TNPA Durban Dry Dock Upgrade Project

Project Description
Transnet National Port Authority (TNPA) wish to upgrade the Port of Durban dry dock pumping facilities. The dock, together with its supporting infrastructure, is approximately 100 years old and the equipment is effectively at the end of its design life.
The project scope includes, but is not limited to:
- The replacement of 3 Primary Dewatering Pumps which are responsible for draining of the water from both the inner- and outer-docks
- The replacement of 12 Penstock Valves which are responsible for controlling the flow of sea water into and out of the docks
- The replacement of the Ballast and Service Water piping system which is responsible for the supply of ballast and service water to vessels in the dock
- The supply and installation of new MV Panels to support the upgraded dock equipment
- A whole host of supporting mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works associated with the upgrade of the dock infrastructure
